A hot throwback manifests itself in the Retro OG Air Jordan 1 lineup, and this time, it comes in a rich purple ensemble. A beautifully deepened color radiating His Airness’s royalty on the basketball court is presented in the OG silhouette that we all know and love. Successfully launching last April 2020 at 170 USD retail tag, here is the Nike Air Jordan 1 Court Purple.
The sneakers come in a classic color blocking, giving tribute to the 2015 OG Chicago colorway with a clean white leather base. Unlike the 1.0 version, the purples now dominate the shoe panels, amplified by whites throughout the upper and with the classic Jordan 1 elements the only ones wearing hits of black. First in the line of purples are the mudguards that go up to the center, accentuated by a white nylon tongue with a black leather tag carrying the Nike Air branding in the same purple. A contrasting mix of white paneling and black Swoosh graces the sides while soft, padded collars cushion the ankles. More pops of purple take place on the back of the shoe and the wing panel that features the Air Jordan wings logo debossed in glossy black. The final touch goes to the bright white midsoles with pure purple outsoles setting the seal.
Retros of AJ1 sneakers turn up higher on the resale market, especially on OG colorways, yet the Court Purple 2020 is one of the higher costing models despite not being an OG. With the law of demands controlled by the sneakerhead and streetwear culture, these kicks prove to be an all-time fave for the AJ1 and Ravens hype nation and everyone in between.
