A popular colorway and a classic silhouette that Michael Jordan himself wore in his triumphant game against the Cavaliers in the 1990s is back, still holding a top spot on the must-have sneakers of 2020. Commemorating its 30th debut in the limelight of the sneaker industry, the Air Jordan 5 Retro “Fire Red” runs again in its fourth remake of the OG Fire Red colorway.
Staying true to its origins of what was once can only be seen on His Airness's posters and throwback pictures, the 2020 release proves to be one of the AJ 5 models still being loved by sneakerheads worldwide.
Bringing back the 1990's aesthetic to the streets, the kicks consist of soft, synthetic leather in white and plastic mesh detail on the upper, keeping that clean, structured look. Front and center is the iconic silver 3M tongue with the Jumpman logo embroidered up top, complementing the padded red sock liners of the shoe.
More hits of red come in with the famed red shark teeth accent inspired by the American WWII fighter jet planes and the Nike Air branding at the heel. Moving down, we have the midsoles painted in black, featuring the classic cushioning Air unit. Rounding off the look is an icy, blue translucent rubber with another Jumpman logo and a debossed Nike branding at the middle of the outsoles in black.
Being one of the classics among the AJ 5 realm, the sneakers retailed for 200 USD upon its launch. Definitely on the hefty side for sneakers, but with its lineage and timeless design, the shoes can speak for themselves. Just like how Michael Jordan was on fire during the 1990s, cop off these blazing kicks to up your style game and complete your OG collection.
